The spring equinox, March 21, is the beginning of the new zodiacal year and Aries, the first sign, is, therefore, that of new beginnings. As members of the first zodiac sign, Aries are astrology’s pioneers. Symbolized by the ram, they tend to be aggressive and self-sufficient initiators.
No wonder one of the prevailing tenets of Aries Ingvar Kamprad’s Ikea is to “do it yourself.”
Aries signals the event that the day force equals, then overpowers the night force. Due to this long-awaited event, Aries must step forth boldly, though often unassured, to present themselves (ego) in this light. The adolescent stage of humanity emerges to prove its place in the world. It is preferable to be aware of your pioneering spirit and not disregard it. In acknowledging it you not only enjoy life more, but you avoid being pushed around by others. Your nature is usually pushing or be pushed, with little middle ground. This can at times be objectionable to others, but you must have the freedom to act, rather than just thinking about it, getting pent-up in the process.
Adventurous and energetic
Pioneering and courageous
Enthusiastic and confident
Dynamic and quick-witted
Selfish and quick-tempered
Impulsive and impatient
Foolhardy and daredevil
As the first sign in the zodiac, Aries (as you are referred to), is to simply "get something started and lead the way". The Sun in this zodiac position gives you will free rein and express itself. You could be doing this in the form of some leadership role, or by forcing others to look at themselves in a new way. You can accomplish this by knowingly carrying out a deliberate act in the name of some cause that moves you.
With a genuine concern for those they command and being responsible people, they will rarely use their subordinates to obtain their objectives as leaders, but occasionally it does happen. They do not make very good followers because they are too "take charge". They may be unwilling to obey or submit to directions for which they can see no reason, or with which they disagree. They are much concerned with self, both positively and negatively - self-reliant but also self-centered (sometimes) and concerned with their advancement and physical satisfaction.
Aries represents the spark. It is the moment you recognize you are alive, the moment you recognize you are in love. It is the ignition switch. Aries people get a kick out of starting anything new. As an Arian, you like a challenge that will stir you to action.
Much as you are the Ram, there is still the little lamb in you, which means that at times you would attain your goals more easily by gently giving in without resistance to the demands of a given social situation, rather than getting your horns entangled in something larger and more powerful than yourself.
Arians are frank, direct, and candid, and make enthusiastic and generous friends. There is, however, a negative side to your associations with others. You can easily be irritated by slowness and, should try not to ride roughshod over the sensitivities of others. Their immense energy makes them aggressive and restless, argumentative occasionally, headstrong, quick tempered, easily offended, and capable of holding grudges if they feel affronted. They are good champions of lost causes and last-ditch resistance. They are quick-witted but sometimes foolhardy and over-optimistic, lacking thoroughness and the ability to evaluate difficulties in the undertakings into which they often rush impulsively. The great need of Aries natives is to exercise iron self-control, to discipline the qualities and tendencies of their character to the advantage, not the detriment, of the society in which they move.
The Aries is a pioneer in thought and action, open to new ideas, and a lover of freedom. They welcome challenges and will not be diverted from their purpose except by their own impatience, which will surface if they don't get quick results.
As an Arian, you like a challenge that will stir you to action. You make good athletes and climbers, doctors, explorers (of new ideas as well as uncharted territory, the latter in these days including adventuring into outer space), soldiers, sailors and airmen, and leaders, though awkward subordinates, in industry and politics. Be aware of your pioneering spirit and not disregard it. The young ram is adventurous, ambitious, impulsive, enthusiastic, and energetic.
In your relationships, Arians are frank, direct, and candid, and make enthusiastic and generous friends. You are liable to have a high sex drive and make passionate but fastidious lovers. There is, however, a negative side to your associations with other people. You can easily be irritated by slowness or moderation in your companions and, though yourselves sensitive, ride roughshod over the sensitivities of others. People with a lot of fire in their charts radiate. They cannot stand stale energy; If they have it, they burn it. Each fire sign represents a different stage of passion.
In ancient Egyptian astronomy, Aries was associated with the god Amon-Ra, who was depicted as a man with a ram's head and represented fertility and creativity. Because it was the location of the vernal equinox, it was called the "Indicator of the Reborn Sun".
Aries is often referred to as the baby of the zodiac, and their head is known to be the most sensitive part of their body. It's a common stereotype that Aries tend to charge into situations head-on, just like the ram that rules over them. This animal is known for using its head to fight. Therefore, the next time you encounter an Aries who seems overly determined, you'll know that it's a trait that's deeply rooted in their astrological sign.
Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, is also associated with robust health and vitality. Those born under this sign are considered to be strong and resilient, with a natural ability to ward off illness. However, their impulsive and headstrong nature can often lead to accidents and injuries. According to astral healing charts, Arians may suffer from a range of health issues related to the head and nervous system. These may include skin irritation, acne, migraines, epilepsy, tooth and gum problems, high blood pressure, and anger issues. To stay in good health, Arians are advised to consume a diet rich in citrus fruits, celery, tomatoes, apples, dandelion salad, and parsnips. In addition, Arians may benefit from supplements of potassium, which can help to regulate blood pressure.
Herbal decoctions of broom and wild cherry are also recommended for Arians, as they are believed to have a calming effect on the nervous system and can help to reduce stress and anxiety. By following these healthful regimens, Arians can maintain their vitality and enjoy a long and healthy life.
Aries individuals may find that their natural leadership qualities and independent nature are well-suited to this age. They may also be drawn to the innovative and forward-thinking energy of the Aquarian age and may find new opportunities for growth and exploration. Aries may find that their ability to take quick action and pursue their goals with passion is highly valued in this new era.
Additionally, the Aquarian age is associated with a focus on social justice and collective well-being, and Aries individuals may be inspired to channel their competitive and courageous spirit towards causes that benefit the greater good.
