This Privacy Policy explains how Compass Astrology (“Compass Astrology,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use compassastrology.com and any related sites, communities, or services that link to this notice (the “Site”). That includes newsletters, readings, classes, e-commerce, Patreon-style memberships, and any future mobile apps (collectively, the “Services”).

• Note: Compass Astrology provides educational and entertainment content. Nothing here is medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.

• Contact details: name, email, phone, mailing address (if you order physical goods).
• Profile & account info: username, password, preferences, avatar.
• Astrology inputs (special category data under some laws): birth date, time, and place, plus any context you share (life themes, goals, questions).
• Content you submit: form messages, reading requests, community posts/comments, testimonials, and uploaded files.
• Payment info: handled by our payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). We receive confirmation of payment, but not your full card number.
• Business inquiries: if you pitch collaborations or sponsorships.
   

• Usage data: pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, referring/exit pages.
• Device/tech data: IP address, browser/OS, screen size, language, country/region.
• Cookies & similar tech: to run the Site, keep you logged in, measure performance, remember preferences, and—if enabled—support marketing/retargeting.
   

• Analytics/ad platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta/LinkedIn pixels) for aggregated insights and ad performance.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or 16 where applicable). See Children’s Privacy.

• Communicate: respond to messages, send confirmations, service notices, and (if you opt in) newsletters or promotions.
• Personalize: tailor content, recommendations, and offers (e.g., transits you may care about).
• Improve & secure: analyze performance, fix bugs, prevent fraud/abuse, enforce community rules.
• Legal & compliance: maintain records, meet legal obligations, and enforce our terms.

Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors): consent (especially for astrology inputs and marketing), contract performance, legitimate interests (analytics, site security, basic personalization), and compliance with law.

Your astrology inputs can reveal or be associated with beliefs or life details that some laws treat as sensitive (“special category”) data. Where required, we rely on your explicit consent to process this information for the purpose of providing readings, charts, and related Services. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your Rights), but that may limit our ability to provide astrology features.

We (and service providers) may use:

• Performance/analytics cookies to understand usage and improve UX.
• Functional cookies to remember preferences and login.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by law for opt-outs of “sale”/“sharing” in applicable U.S. states.

We share information with:

• Service providers/Processors who help us operate the Services (hosting, analytics, email/SMS, payments, scheduling, community, fulfillment, security). They must use your data only to provide services to us.
• Professional advisors (legal, accounting) under confidentiality.
• Business transfers if we explore or complete a merger, financing, or asset sale.
• Legal & safety when required by law or to protect rights, property, users, or the public.
   

We do not sell your personal information. If we ever plan to, we’ll update this Policy and provide legally required choices.

If you post in public areas (e.g., comments, forums, Discord), your content may be visible to others. Don’t share details you consider private. We may moderate, remove, or restrict content that violates our community rules or the law.

• Account & profile: kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping, legal, and security purposes.
• Astrology inputs & reading notes: retained as long as needed to provide Services, improve your future sessions, and maintain records—typically up to 3 years after your last interaction unless you request deletion sooner (legal obligations may require longer retention in some cases).
• Transactional records: retained as required by tax, accounting, and other laws (often 7 years).
• Marketing preferences: kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
   

We aim to minimize what we keep and how long we keep it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, backups) to protect your information. No system is 100% secure. If a breach occurs that affects your data, we’ll notify you when legally required.

We are U.S.-based. Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required (e.g., for EEA/UK data), we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Depending on your state, you may have the right to:

• Know/Access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we’ve collected.
• Delete personal information (with legal exceptions).
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising (we don’t sell data; if we use ad cookies that count as “sharing,” you can opt out in our banner or via GPC).
• Limit use of sensitive data (we only use astrology inputs to provide Services you request).

CPRA Notice at Collection (California)

Categories collected may include: Identifiers (name, email, IP), Customer Records, Commercial Info (orders, if any), Internet/Network Activity (site usage), Geolocation (approximate via IP), Professional Info (if you share it), and Inferences (to personalize content). Sources: you; your devices; service providers. Purposes: See Sections 2, 4, and 5. Retention: See Section 7. Disclosure: service providers/processors, advisors, legal, transfers.

You may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object (including to profiling based on legitimate interests), and data portability, plus the right to withdraw consent at any time (does not affect prior processing). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact us first—we’ll try to resolve it quickly.

If you opt in, we’ll send newsletters or promotions. You can unsubscribe anytime via the link in the email or by contacting dawn@ndawnm.com. We may still send transactional or service messages.

Our content may include links to third-party sites or embedded media (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, Patreon). Those services have their own privacy policies. Review them before sharing information.

Most browsers offer a Do Not Track (DNT) setting. Our Services don’t currently respond to DNT signals. We do honor GPC where required.

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us data, contact dawn@ndawnm.com and we’ll take appropriate steps to delete it.

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or Services. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date when we post changes. For material changes, we’ll provide additional notice where required.
